Holiday Mash Up of Sorts

Merry Christmas! It’s good to be posting again!!

I did something that no beginner blogger should ever do when trying to get more followers and reach more people. I stopped posting. We are not talking about a few days or a few weeks, we are talking months!! It has been almost two months since I last posted.

It’s not that I didn’t want to, believe me, I have had so much to share, but it just seemed like every time I went to sit down and write, there was something else to do.

Well, I have no excuse now!! I recently had surgery on my right foot and have been instructed to rest in bed for the next couple of weeks.

I figured this would be a perfect time to make some adjustments to my blog and get refocused. I have lots of things planned for the New Year and I am so excited to share!

In this post I will do my best to sum up the past few weeks and share what I have planned. I have lots of pictures, some cool finds, some funny moments, some encouraging words, and some other random things, if I don’t lose your attention.

First, I want to talk to you about, what some of you know, is very important to me, Compassion International. My husband and I sponsor a little boy through them. His name is Puguh! This has been so rewarding for the both of us and we are so blessed to be a part of this boy’s life.

During the Christmas Season, Compassion does something very special, not just for those children who are sponsored, but for many other men, women, and children who are in desperate need and living in poverty.

I am asking you to take a few minutes and look through Compassion’s Christmas Gift Catalog. Jesus gave us the greatest gift of all, Himself. Say a prayer and ask Him to lead you in where it is He wants you to give back this Holiday season. Maybe it’s not Compassion that He desires for you to give to,  maybe just a simple prayer for these families is enough. All I’m asking is that you pray with me and think about how you can be a part of spreading joy to others! After all #ItsAboutGiving.

I have been taking a lot of pictures through Instagram lately. I love that these pictures kinda tell a story of what goes on in each person’s life that you follow.

Would you like to see some of mine?

So there it is, the last 2 months of my life summed up in Instagram photos!! I hope I didn’t bore you too much, anyways..

Just a few more things I would love to share..

I plan to buy this bag for myself as a treat, but I don’t even have to feel bad about buying it because I am helping out a great cause. www.freesetglobal.com

I received this awesome gift card for $50 in my birchbox this month to Rent the Runway. I can’t wait to pick out a dress!

My husband and I have been reading this amazing advent devotional by Ann Voskamp called A Jesse Tree Journey. So great!!

Two songs that I love… one is a Christmas song, the other is not, but it is still great!!

My plan for January is to start posting on a regular basis. I have chosen several topics that I want to blog about and so I carefully selected certain days to post about these different topics. Here is the plan:

Mondays: Made it Through Mondays (weekly posts on encouragement and inspiration)

Tuesdays: No Post

Wednesdays: What I Ate Wednesdays (weekly gluten free recipe’s)

Thursdays: Things to Create Thursdays (weekly DIY projects & crafts)

Fridays: Fabulous Finds Fridays (weekly post of all things awesome from my week)

Saturdays: No Post

Sundays: Sunday Scripture (quick post with scripture for the week)

Now in my head, this seems like a great plan, but sometimes life happens and things don’t always turn out the way we want them to. So I will do my best to stick to this, but I can’t promise that I won’t ever miss a post or two.

Honestly friends, I can’t tell you how much God has really poured out His blessings on my husband and I this holiday season. I could go on forever telling of His love and joy. I am not saying that everything has been perfect for us, but He has just been there in a way that I can’t explain, and somehow want to share! Does that make sense? He has just given us a peace that passes all understanding and I could not ask for a greater gift.

With that being said, I would like to bless all of you with something small. A little gift from me to you. This year we decided not to exchange gifts between family and close friends. Instead, we chose to spend as much time together enjoying one another as possible, because lets be honest, once Christmas is over, we will all go back to our normal schedules, which leaves little time for getting together.

So I created a little gift card for time, that you can download and give to others as well. I figured if there was anything that I really wanted more of for Christmas, it’s TIME!! So, print out this little card and give to anyone and everyone you would like (I punched a hole in the top left of the card and tied a small ribbon on it). The person you give this to can use it for anytime they need your time (haha, that sounds funny). That means if they need a babysitter, or your help moving, or maybe just time with you to talk about life, your time is theirs!!

I hope that you all have a fabulous Christmas and Happy New Year!! Chat with you soon!

God Bless!
